Supercolony Expands Strategic Partnership with Patract Labs
Recently, Supercolony expanded its strategic partnership with Patract Labs, to jointly promote the construction of public infrastructure and contract technology evolution, to develop the Wasm contract ecosystem.
Supercolony operates as a venture studio, designing and building companies by bringing together experienced blockchain talent, resources, and capital to compress time, iterate quickly, and scale more ambitiously than would otherwise be possible.
They connect founders to all of the necessary partners to achieve success in today’s crypto ecosystem. They have aligned themselves with partners in every major crypto geography, including traditional trading firms, VC’s, legal/compliance experts, marketing and PR firms, launchpads, and security auditors.
Supercolony is also optimistic about the technical trends of Wasm contracts. Let us hear their views together:
“We believe WebAssembly to be the future of dApp development. Let’s face it, Solidity is a great, but an incomplete language. You can’t do advanced stuff with it, it’s not as optimized, and isn’t used anywhere except EVMs. At the same time, Wasm allows you to write your app using the full power of a language like Rust. We believe that dApp development needs to mature. That’s why introducing a mature language is a painful, but necessary step.
Obviously, at the moment Wasm greatly lacks support and the dev ecosystem. That’s why we are here to change that.
We built OpenBrush, a Rust library for secure smart contract development on ink!. (analogous to OpenZeppelin for Solidity).
OpenBrush is underway to propose and lead adoption of the first WebAssembly token standard (similar to ERC20) for Polkadot. We are building full implementations of these standards, and other useful contracts to provide the framework for developers and ensure the usage of the most performant, robust, and secure code. In the near future, we will focus on having a whole set of standards for Polkadot (as Ethereum already has) in order to ensure interoperable & safe smart contract-based applications.
We share the same values with the Patract Labs: we strongly believe that the Polkadot ecosystem is the future for decentralized applications, and that is why we are developing libraries, frameworks and tools targeting ink! smart contracts. We are working closely with Patract by exchanging ideas, our visions, and our developers are solving issues and building the future of ink!”
